Microbeam System

The instrument shown on the left enables X-rays to be focused to submicron size through a Fresnel zone-plate. A beam like the tip of a needle is used for research on X-ray diffraction measurements and fluorescent X-ray analysis in a very small area. The Fresnel zone-plate condenser and the sample observing microscope can be toggled with the touch of a single button. Also to observe very small samples, the rotation center displacement of the rotation stage is kept at 1 μm or less. This instrument is now in service at the SPring-8 (Super Photon ring-8 GeV) BL24XU in Japan. -

X-ray CT unit with Tensile,
Compression and Twist

This CT unit is developed for x-ray CT measurement with tensile, compression and
twist on various samples. It has upper and lower rotation stages against a sample ,
which move independently and are aligned with the same rotation axis each other.
The upper and lower rotation stages are moved in vertical direction by Z stages, which
induce tensile, compression and twist on the sample.
A load cell (2kN) and a 12-pole slip ring are equipped with the upper rotation stage.
A tilt stage is installed at the bottom for adjusting the relative angle to the detector.

This stage is used for X-ray laminography. Which is inclined X-ray CT. The eccentricity keeps to be less than 1μm even in the inclined geometry.

High Speed / Precision Spinner

It is developed as a high speed spinner having within 1 micron eccentricity. It is useful not only for putting a sample, but also putting an optical component.

High Precision Rotation Unit for High Speed CT experiments

This unit is developed for high speed CT experiments . The maximum rotation speed 5 rps with less than 1 um eccentricity is available.

Rotation stage for a Condenser Zone Plate

<CZPR-001>

This rotation stage is for rotating a sector condenser zone plate continuously in order to illuminate a sample uniformly and without speckle noise. The sector CZP is located inside a small He chamber and mounted on a manual XY centering stage. The maximum rotation speed is 10 rotations/sec.

Compact High-Resolution Goniometer

A goniometer with a high resolution of 50 nrad (0.01 arcsec) is downsized to be 1.6 kg in weight and W115 x L180 x H46 mm in dimension.

X-ray CT Unit

This unit is developed for high energy X-ray micro CT experiments . As a feature, the stroke of the Z axis is 300 mm. In addition, a slip ring is attached to the θz axis to rotate 360 degrees.
